The Green Tick next to a WhatsApp name indicates that the entity has been approved as an Official Business Account. When you sign up for WhatsApp Green Tick with Fametick Media you must first receive approval of your use case in order to get started. When your application is approved, you are a Business Account and you can start using the service to talk to your customers.
Approval of your use case however does not automatically mean that you are an Official Business Account and users will see a Green Tick next to your name. To become an Official Business Account you need to go through a second approval process.
WhatsApp Green Tick Verification and WhatsApp API Verification are not the same thing. In this tutorial, we'll walk you through the Whatsapp business verification process and show you how to simply get verified on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is looking into ways for you to connect with businesses that are important to you. WhatsApp has confirmed that this contact's phone number belongs to the related business. The green badge next to the contact's name indicates that this is the business's verified WhatsApp account.
After you've been approved for WhatsApp Business APIs, you may apply for Green Tick. Only a handful of companies match WhatsApp's official business account qualifications. WhatsApp normally gives Green Tick or an Official Business account to a limited number of well-known firms.
WhatsApp has confirmed that this account is owned by a legitimate, well-known brand. In the profile and chat thread headings of an official business account, there is a green checkmark badge. Even if the user hasn't added the business to their address book, the name is visible. Very few businesses will have official business accounts.
If you're using the WhatsApp Business API or the WhatsApp Business App, your account is automatically set up as a business account by default. Every WhatsApp Business API account has its authentication checked for WhatsApp Green Tick.
Before you apply for your Official Business Account you should make sure your business has been verified on Facebook and you have 2 Factor Authentication set up. You can read here how to verify your business: How to verify your Facebook Business Account
We recommend that if you wish to apply for an Official Business Account, you make sure to add an official email domain to your Facebook Business Account. You could use an official email domain (such as "username@companyname.com") from your business or entity rather than a webmail email like username@gmail.com or "username@yahoo.com". Webmail addresses most often are rejected as they cannot be affiliated with established businesses.
Your display name can make a difference in the approval process. When applying you should make sure your display name adheres to the guidelines for display names. If there is inconsistency of the display name with external branding or there is an unclear relation to the business, your request will likely be rejected.
From experience we know that your account must represent a well-known, often searched brand or entity. Accounts that are featured in multiple news sources have a higher chance of getting approval, but note that paid or promotional content is not considered as a source for review.
